Johnson City, Texas hosts The Hill Country Science Mill as a recycled historical landmark turned into a community forum for science exploration. Featuring exhibitions including a virtual reality experience and the Story of Water displaying a Pioneer Water Tank.

Pioneer Water Tanks at the Texas Hill Country Science Mill

The Story of Water (see more) is sponsored by the Hill Country Alliance (learn more) as an interactive featuring showing the movement of the water cycle. Families can interact with the kid-friendly display that looks out into the rainwater harvesting system.

 

The rainwater that is collected from the rooftop of the Science Mill is store within the 9,907-gallon Pioneer Water Tank. The BPA-Free water storage system is used for irrigation on the property.

The Hill Country Science Mill is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm as well as on Sunday noon until 4:00 pm. There will be a Lights Spectacular this upcoming Friday and Saturday, November 24 – 25th, 2017 celebrated throughout Johnson City. At the Science Mill, there will be 40+ exhibits and a photo booth with fireworks at the Blanco County Courthouse on Friday. (See More)
